“Just wait and see, I’ll win!”A young man in his twenties wins $1,000 a week for life!

Montréal, May 27, 2025 – Cameron McKenzie, a young man from the Capitale-Nationale region, recently won the Gagnant à vie top prize of $1,000 a week for life.

Highlights

  • Cameron stopped by a convenience store and noticed a Gagnant à vie Limited Edition ticket in the display case at the register. "Have you ever seen anyone win the top prize?" he asked the clerk, who said he hadn't. "Just wait and see, I'll win" he joked.
  • When he scratched his ticket later that evening, he uncovered three VIE symbols in the same game. He immediately told his mother, who checked the ticket using the Loto-Québec app and confirmed he had just won the prize. They then woke up Cameron’s father, who had already gone to bed. The whole family stayed up almost all night!
  • With the money he’s won, Cameron can look forward to focusing on his studies and following his dream of becoming a police officer.

The winning ticket was bought at the Couche-Tard convenience store located at 1601 Avenue Industrielle, in Québec City’s Val-Bélair sector. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.

Seven Gagnant à vie top prizes already won this year

Since the start of 2025, seven people have won $1,000 a week for life with the Gagnant à vie lottery game, including David Morin, also from the Capitale-Nationale region.
