“There’s no way!”A Montérégie woman wins $1,000 a week for life!

Montréal, June 16, 2025 — A Montérégie resident in her forties, Karine Dagenais, recently took home the Gagnant à vie top prize of $1,000 a week for life.

Highlights

  • Dagenais’ spouse gave her a Gagnant à vie Limited Edition ticket as a gift, with which she won a free ticket. That ticket won her $10, which she used for another Gagnant à vie ticket, and this series of small wins continued until the eighth ticket. “In the first box of Game 1, I saw the VIE symbol… once, twice, then three times. I thought to myself, ‘No, no, there’s no way!’” she said.
  • She ran to tell her spouse, who was in the bathroom. “I shouted, ‘Marco, Marco! I won!’ But he didn’t understand. I ended up sticking the winning ticket against the shower door!” she said.
  • The winner and her spouse plan to use the money to travel and spend more time together!

The winning ticket was purchased at the Familiprix pharmacy on Boulevard Fiset in Sorel-Tracy. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.

Since the start of 2025, eight people have won $1,000 a week for life with the Gagnant à vie lottery game, including Cameron McKenzie, a young man in his twenties from the Capitale-Nationale region.
