Éric Goulet-Ménard regularly buys Lotto 6/49 tickets “always with Extra,” he specifies. On the way to the grocery store with his daughter, he said to her during a stop along the way, “Let me check if we’re millionaires.” Goulet-Ménard wasn’t expecting to see $1,000,000 displayed on his phone screen. “No way, this can’t be true! It must be a joke!” he said. The new millionaire still couldn't believe his stroke of luck when he claimed his prize. He’s thrilled to have won and plans to take some time to think before making any plans. The winning ticket was purchased at the Dandy’s convenience store in Témiscaming.

Christiane Jolin discovered she’d won when she stopped to fuel up. When she saw the amount, she left all her belongings behind and rushed to the window to get her partner’s attention since he’d stayed in the car. He first thought she didn't have enough money to pay for her purchases—instead, she was trying to tell him that she’d just won $1,000,000! With this tidy sum, the lucky winner plans to retire early to have more time to indulge in her favourite hobbies: weaving and scrapbooking. Jolin bought her ticket at the Canadian Tire gas station in Amos.

A third prize of $1,000,000 was won in the region in October, this time with Québec Max. Jocelyn Ringuette and Josée Dumas had purchased their ticket at Les Marchés Tradition grocery store in Macamic.

Each retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
