“Sir, you’re a millionaire!”An Abitibi-Témiscamingue couple win $1,000,000 with Québec Max

Montréal, November 27, 2024—Abitibi-Témiscamingue couple Jocelyn Ringuette and Josée Dumas recently discovered they won $1,000,000 in the October 25 Québec Max draw.

Highlights
•    On Halloween, Ringuette stopped at a gas station with a friend and had a few lottery tickets validated. When checking his Forfait lottos ticket, he saw a 1 appear on-screen, followed by several zeros.
•    That’s when the attendant told him he’d won $100,000. But to be sure, he asked the store owner to recheck the ticket. When he saw the amount, he said, “Sir, you’re a millionaire! It’s $1,000,000!”
•    Ringuette hurried to call his spouse, Dumas, to share the news, but she was somewhat skeptical. “I was sure he was joking; he’s a prankster!” She only started believing it when she saw the ticket.
•    The couple plan to use their windfall to purchase a four-season cottage, travel as a family and spoil their son.

The winning ticket was purchased at Épicerie Tradition in Macamic. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
