$1,000 a week for lifeHe’s now set for life thanks to his son
Montréal, May 13, 2026 – Capitale-Nationale resident Christian Hébert snagged the grand prize of $1,000 a week for life with a Gagnant à vie scratch ticket his son had bought for him from a convenience store in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier.
He paced around the house
- Christian Hébert had asked his son to pick up a few things for him at the convenience store, including a lottery ticket.
- Not seeing the ticket his father wanted, he chose a Gagnant à vie ticket instead.
- The ticket sat in a drawer for a while before Christian scratched it and found out that he had won $1,000 a week for life. “I can't believe this happened to me!” he said.
- After pacing around the house, the winner ended up calling his son at work to share the good news. He was on speaker phone when he took the call, so his colleagues found out at the same time he did!
- Initially shocked by this windfall, Christian will make the time to figure out what to do with it.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Sprint convenience store at 4754 Route de Fossambault, in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
