Montréal, June 11, 2026 — Montréal resident Philis Ann Durant won $1,000,000 in the May 27 Lotto 6/49 draw. The woman in her fifties plans to use her windfall to purchase a house.

Highlights

  • Durant has been playing the Double Jeu 49 package for four months so that she can play both Lotto 6/49 and Québec 49 at the same time. She usually plays the same combinations, which feature numbers meaningful to her.
  • Durant’s daughter discovered her mother’s big win. After checking her mother’s lottery ticket at the convenience store, she returned home repeating, “Mommy, you won!” Durant immediately noticed the elation in her daughter’s voice.
  • Her son, also at home, thought his sister was excited for a $20 win. Little did he know their mother had just pocketed $1,000,000 with Lotto 6/49!

The winning ticket was purchased at the Thierry LZ convenience store at 1693 Rue Thierry in the LaSalle borough of Montréal. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
