The day before moving into her new place, she pressed pause on packing to pick up her million-dollar cheque.

• Maude, who is in her forties and picked up her prize on June 30 at the Salon de jeux de Québec, says she’ll take some time to settle into her new place before making any plans about how to spend her win.

The winning ticket was purchased at Dépanneur Ferland, located at 1184 Chemin Royal in Saint-Pierre-de-l’Île-d’Orléans. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
