Lotto MaxA new millionaire thanks to a ticket purchased in Pointe-Calumet
Montréal, January 20, 2026 — Laurentides resident Marc Bédard was thrilled when he discovered that the Lotto Max ticket he’d purchased at a convenience store in Pointe-Calumet was the winning ticket of a $1,000,000 prize in the December 23 draw. He even celebrated with a few dance steps!

Highlights
- Marc Bédard asked a store employee to validate a few lottery tickets. As soon as the first ticket—a Double Jeu Max— was validated, the terminal music played. “You win a million!” the employee told him. Bédard started dancing for joy on the spot!
- He then shared the good news with his spouse, saying, “I won!” with the validation slip in hand. She could hardly believe it!
- With his windfall, Bédard plans to pay off his mortgage and buy a car.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Boni-Soir convenience store on 59e Avenue in Pointe-Calumet. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
