ExtraA couple win $1,000,000 with a ticket purchased in Estrie

Montréal, February 17, 2026 — Estrie resident André Airoldi and his partner, Louise Vigneux, won the $1,000,000 jackpot with the January 17 Extra draw. They’ve been buying lottery tickets together for just a few weeks!

Highlights

  • André Airoldi and Louise Vigneux could not believe their eyes when they checked their Lotto 6/49 ticket with Extra. “That’s a lot of zeros!” André quipped. The couple scanned the ticket's barcode three times with the Loto-Québec app.
  • Still skeptical, Vigneux compared their ticket numbers to the winning combination of the January 17 Extra draw, shown on the Loto-Québec gaming website. They had indeed won $1,000,000!
  • Airoldi plans to enhance his upcoming retirement with his windfall. Vigneux, on the other hand, will take some time to think before making plans.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Boni-Soir convenience store on Rue Gosselin in Wotton. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
