LotteryMillions awarded at the sugar shack
Montréal, April 2, 2026 — Several Québec lottery players enjoyed an exceptionally sweet sugar shack season, taking home a total of $4,000,000 in winnings! A few of the lucky players from the Lanaudière, Laurentides and Montréal regions gathered at a sugar shack to collect their prizes and celebrate their wins together.
Winners and sugary treats
On March 24, two players each won $1,000,000 in the Québec Max draw.
- Joël Charpentier of Montréal was one of the lucky winners. He discovered his windfall three days later when he checked his ticket using the Loto-Québec app. With his spouse and daughter in attendance at the celebration, Joël shared that he bought his ticket at the Galeries Rive-Nord lottery kiosk in Repentigny, Lanaudière. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
- Stéphane Dupuis, and a couple, Lisette Simoneau and Gilles Dessein, all from the Laurentides region, each took home a $200,000 share of the other million-dollar prize, which they won with a Formule groupe ticket. All three were at the festivities to collect their winnings. “A mix of winners and sugary treats—it’s perfect!” Stéphane remarked as he enjoyed some maple taffy.
$1,000 a week for life
- Nathalie Champagne and her spouse Richard Houle, from Montréal, won the grand prize in the Gagnant à vie draw, securing $1,000 a week for life.
- One evening, Nathalie scratched their ticket and, upon revealing three sun symbols, initially thought they’d won a trip.
- When Richard came home, Nathalie shared the news that they’d won something.
- Richard, in disbelief, went to the corner store to validate the ticket. It turned out they’d won the grand prize!
- The couple opted for the $1,000,000 lump sum. Nathalie was moved to tears when presented with the giant cheque.
- The winning ticket was purchased at the Kiatou convenience store, located at 2700 Avenue Laurier Est in Montréal. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
Saying yes to Extra pays off
- Sylvain Rivest of Lanaudière won the $1,000,000 grand prize in the March 29 Extra draw.
- At the sugar shack celebration, Sylvain admitted he wasn’t sure at first which lottery game had made him a winner and was surprised to learn the Extra grand prize was worth $1,000,000.
- The financial advisor joked that he also won $5 in the same draw!
