“I almost threw the ticket out!”She wins a gold bar at the last second
Montréal, April 22, 2026 — Mauricie resident Stéphanie Adam won one of the 20 grand prizes offered by the La course aux lingots scratch ticket. The young woman was a hair’s breadth away from throwing out the winning ticket of a gold bar!
Highlights
- Stéphanie Adam didn’t notice that her La course aux lingots ticket was hiding a grand prize when she first scratched it. “I didn’t realize the number 14 I had was a winning number.”
- When she checked her ticket on the Loto-Québec app, a special message caught her eye. Intrigued, she took the ticket back and studied it, only to discover she’d won a gold bar!
- “I almost threw the ticket out! Good thing I scratched the little symbols,” she shared.
- The thirtysomething opted for the $150,000 lump-sum prize rather than the gold bar.
Adam’s lucky ticket was purchased at the Proxi Extra Pérade convenience store at 310 Boulevard Lanaudière in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade.
