Montréal, August 13, 2026 – Five Outaouais residents shared the $2 million Québec 49 grand prize in the August 5 draw. Thanks to a winning Formule groupe ticket, each took home $400,000. Four of the five winners gathered at the Casino du Lac-Leamy on the morning of August 13 to collect their prize.

Highlights

• A convenience store in Papineauville put the group together. Some of the winners were lucky enough to hear the news at the retailer, including Pierre Pesant. As soon as he walked into the store, an employee said, “You’re in the five-person group that won $2 million! You won!”
• Jean Guy got the good news through social media. He saw a post saying that a winning Formule groupe ticket had been sold in his area. He went to the convenience store, where he was told that he was indeed one of the winners!
• Lisette Aubin discovered she had won while checking the draw results on the Loto-Québec gaming website: “When you see one number, then two and so on until the sixth, you think, ‘I’ll check again!’” But it really was true!
• The fourth winner, Jean Daniel Cloutier, sticks to his usual routine. Every Tuesday and Friday morning, he has his lottery tickets checked on his way to work. So, he learned the news two days after the draw. “The woman at the counter checked my ticket, and I immediately noticed that her eyes had gone wide. I wasn’t expecting that!”
