Québec Max“I worked two days not knowing I was a millionaire!”

Montréal, May 16, 2025 — An Outaouais resident in his forties, Mathieu Gervais, won $1,000,000 in the April 29 Québec Max draw. “I worked two days not knowing I was a millionaire!” he said, unbelieving, when claiming his prize.

Highlights

  • For about a year, Mathieu has been getting Double Jeu Max tickets, which include a Lotto Max and a Québec Max on the same ticket, to which he adds Extra.
  • A few days after the draw, he stopped at a retailer to have his tickets validated. His aunt, who was waiting for him in the car, was starting to think it was taking too long when Gervais returned and asked her to touch his arm. Not really understanding, she complied. He then told her, “You just touched a millionaire!”
  • He plans to use his windfall to buy a house and a pickup truck.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Canadian Tire Gas+ gas station in Maniwaki. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
