Québec MaxEstrie resident wins $2,000,000 with a ticket purchased in Granby!

Montréal, June 27, 2025 – Estrie resident Louise Vollant took home the $2,000,000 jackpot in the June 17 Québec Max draw. Louise, who has been retired for a year, received her lottery game winnings surrounded by family at a special celebration at Cantine Chez Ben, a Granby institution. She had purchased the lucky ticket just steps away at Dépanneur Millette.

“Luck continues to smile on Estrie residents in 2025,” says Isabelle Jean, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Lottery Games at Loto-Québec. “Several jackpots have already been won in the region this year, including two $5,000,000 Lotto 6/49 jackpots, $2,000,000 with Québec 49 and now $2,000,000 with Québec Max!”

A surprising number of zeros

Louise purchased her lottery ticket at Dépanneur Millette, 137 Rue Robinson Sud. When she checked it at a self-serve ticket checker, she saw the number 2 on the screen followed by a string of zeros. Thinking she had won $2,000, she went to the counter to have her ticket validated by a clerk. That was when Louise found out she hadn’t won $2,000, but the Québec Max jackpot of $2,000,000. “No way!” said the lucky winner. Yes way!

Family reunion

When Louise’s daughter heard the happy news, she travelled 900 kilometres to be with her mother and celebrate the special moment by her side. Other family members came from as far away as Côte-Nord, and they all gathered in Estrie in high spirits to mark the occasion. Louise is keeping her feet firmly on the ground and for now, her only plan is to pamper her two children.

Dépanneur Millette, which sold the winning ticket, will receive a 1% commission of $20,000.
