LotteryTwo Montréal residents announce that they’re now millionaires!

Montréal, July 24, 2025 — Two Montrealers, one who won $2,000,000, and the other, $1,000,000, had beautiful moments in store for their respective spouses. They had memorable news to announce!

A dream video call

  • Ion-Adrian Golu stopped at a convenience store and spontaneously bought a 2 million$ diamant ticket.
  • The electrician scratched it when he returned home. With mounting excitement, he saw “lots of little zeros” in a game box corresponding to one of his lucky numbers.
  • He immediately video called his spouse, winning ticket in hand, to tell her he’d won $2,000,000. She was dubious about what she saw on the screen, and admitted that she couldn’t believe her spouse's luck! And he, too, said to Loto-Québec, “It's a dream!”
  • The forty-year-old plans to use his windfall to invest in real estate.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Provi Soir convenience store at 1100 Avenue du Docteur-Penfield in Montréal. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $20,000.

“Shut the door!”

  • Roger Poirier, for his part, won $1,000,000 in the July 15 Québec Max draw, with a free ticket he’d won on the Loto-Québec gaming website.
  • Poirier was at the office when a Loto-Québec representative called to give him the news. After checking his account to see for himself that he’d won, he asked his spouse to join him and said, “Shut the door!” The winner wanted to share the news with her first!
  • “No way! Stop kidding!” she excitedly replied.
  • After receiving his prize, Poirier announced the good news to his loved ones during a meal.
  • The lucky winner plans to use the million he won to spoil his children and grandchildren and enhance his upcoming trip to Greece.
