$2,000,000A Montérégie resident wins the Québec 49 top prize

Montréal, February 24, 2025 — Montérégie resident Claire Desjardins won $2,000,000 in the January 18 Québec 49 draw. She plans to use her prize for a few getaways and visit her beloved Québec.

Highlights

  • When Desjardins checked her Québec 49 ticket using a self-service ticket checker at a retailer, she saw the $2,000,000 appear on the screen.
  • As she was doubtful, she checked another lottery ticket to see whether the checker was defective, but this second ticket wasn’t a winning one.
  • She then double-checked the first ticket, and the Québec 49 top prize appeared again. There was no doubt this time—she was a multimillionaire!

The winning ticket was purchased at the Filgo convenience store at 248 Boulevard Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier in Mont-Saint-Hilaire. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $20,000.
