$2,000,000 with Québec 49“I fell off my chair!”

Montréal, February 21, 2025 — Chaudière-Appalaches resident Alain Bergeron won $2,000,000 in the February 8 Québec Max draw. Having discovered that he’d won the lottery just before going to babysit his grandchildren, he was able to quickly announce the good news to part of his family!

Highlights

  • Bergeron has been buying Québec 49 tickets for several years. The day after the draws, he likes comparing the numbers on his ticket with those of the winning combinations.
  • In the morning of Sunday, February 9, while checking the ticket he’d purchased for the previous night’s draw, he exclaimed, “No way! I have all six numbers!” His wife asked him what the prize was for these six numbers, and he replied that it was the $2,000,000 top prize. “I fell off my chair!” she said upon claiming the prize.
  • Bergeron plans to use this windfall to spoil his children and grandchildren, travel, and maybe buy a new vehicle.

The winning ticket was purchased at Marché Ami, 147 Rue Principale in Saint-Cyprien. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $20,000. This is the second major prize to be won with a ticket sold by a Saint-Apollinaire retailer in a little over a year. The couple, consisting of Hervé Bédard and Louise Plante Bédard, won $5,000,000 with Lotto 6/49 in December 2023 with a ticket purchased in the same town.
