“I left work at noon!”A Laval resident wins $1,000 a week for life

Montréal, December 23, 2025 — Laval resident Maria Caroli took home the Gagnant à vie top prize of $1,000 a week for life. Her spouse called her at work to share the great news. “I left work at noon, I was too excited!” she told us when claiming her prize at Loto-Québec.

The lucky winner, who rarely buys lottery tickets, received the winning Gagnant à vie ticket as a gift from her spouse. She scratched it quickly before leaving for work and left it at home, not realizing that she’d won the top prize.

Caroli opted for the lifetime annuity, which will enable her to maintain her current lifestyle while enjoying financial peace of mind.

The winning ticket was purchased at the IGA Extra grocery store at 2137 Boulevard Curé-Labelle in Laval. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
