$2,000,000A Montérégie resident wins the Québec 49 top prize
Montréal, November 7, 2024 — Montérégie resident Yves Larivière won the $2,000,000 top prize in the October 19 Québec 49 draw.
Highlights
- Larivière was in the car with a friend, and she asked him for the time. He spontaneously told her the exact time without even looking at the clock display. She then told him, “You should get a 6/49!” referring to the Lotto 6/49 ad.
- Larivière took her seriously and purchased a ticket. He added an Extra and a Québec 49 combination, as he usually does when he plays Lotto 6/49. As it turns out, the Québec 49 combination earned him $2,000,000.
- Larivière checked his ticket on the Loto-Québec app early the day after the draw. When he saw the $2,000,000 on screen, he hurried to wake up his wife and show her. She thought it was too early and said she’d stay in bed and look at it later. But she couldn’t go back to sleep, so she also checked the ticket to confirm that Larivière had indeed won the top prize!
- Traveling features prominently in the plans. The lucky winner would like to go to an all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean, on a golf trip or a cruise.
The winning ticket was purchased at the L’Indispensable convenience store on Rue Mayrand in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
