Formule Groupe Grand Prize$1,000,000 won with Extra in Shawinigan

Montréal, March 13, 2024 — Twelve Mauricie residents won the $1,000,000 Extra top prize in the February 21 draw. The winners purchased the ten shares of the Lotto 6/49 Formule groupe (group play) ticket at the Servi-Express convenience store in the Grand-Mère area of Shawinigan.

Highlights on some of our winners

  • Michel Quessy was the first in the group to check his Lotto 6/49 ticket the day after the draw. “This is how [Servi-Express Grand-Mère] found out they’d sold a winning Formule groupe ticket worth $1,000,000!”

  • It was Paul Lecompte’s very first Formule groupe lottery ticket.

  • Guy Paquette validated his ticket at a retailer. When he saw $100,000 on the customer display screen, he thought it was an ad. The retailer laughed and told him it was actually his prize!

  • René Baril woke his spouse, Martine Beaupré, to tell her the good news. They checked their ticket together at dawn to be sure they had indeed won $100,000.

  • “I always wished I’d win one day!” said Sylvie Rousseau when she received her prize.
