Lotto MaxA group of 10 family business colleagues in Stanstead win a million

Montréal, May 22, 2024 – Ten Estrie colleagues are sharing a Maxmillions prize (a $1,000,000 prize) they won playing Lotto Max as a group in the May 10 draw. The winners work at Ogden Granite, a family business in Stanstead specializing in granite monuments.

Highlights

  • The six members of the Bronson family and their four employees have been playing the lottery together for three years.
  • Gordon Bronson first learned about their good fortune when he had the ticket validated the day after the draw. At first, he thought the group as a whole had won $100,000, but the attendant quickly explained that each member of the group had won $100,000—for a total of $1 million!
  • He left the store and returned to work to inform his family and colleagues.
  • “He showed me the validation slip that showed the amount, but I thought it was a joke. I didn’t think he was serious!” said his daughter, Tamara Bronson. Gordon Bronson then asked his daughter to gather all the group members in a room to share the great news. “Everyone was speechless!”

The winners will wait to have the cheques in their hands before they make any plans.
