Highlights

  • Germain had her ticket checked at a grocery store. When she was called to the customer service counter, she asked the attendant if she’d won $2,000. He answered, “No, you won $2,000,000!”
  • Afterwards, she asked a police officer friend to keep her Double Jeu 49 ticket safe for the weekend until she went to the Loto-Québec head office to claim her prize. And that’s how the ticket ended up at the local police station!
  • Germain mentioned she’d continue to work for now, especially while her boss is on vacation. “I don’t want to let her down!” she told us.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Familiprix Maxime Sasseville et Valéry Madore pharmacy, located at 1179 Boulevard Saint-Félicien in Saint-Félicien. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $20,000.
