Lotto 6/49He wins $1,000,000 with a ticket purchased in Saint-Boniface
Montréal, May 30, 2024 — Mauricie resident Michel Boisvert won $1,000,000 in the May 8 Lotto 6/49 draw. He learned the news at the same place where he bought his ticket: the Super Soir convenience store at 54 Boulevard Trudel Ouest in Saint-Boniface. He told us he hugged several people while at the retailer, which will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.

- Boisvert returned home after discovering how much he’d won and told his spouse of 50 years, “I won $1,000,000 with the lottery!” as he proudly showed her the ticket.
- The seventy-year-old was taking steps to return to work but has since decided to retire, to his spouse’s delight. “I’m not ever going back to work, that’s for sure. I’ve got the confirmation in my pocket,” he said, referring to the shirt pocket where he kept the valuable ticket.
- Boisvert plans to use his windfall to spoil his spouse and children and treat himself to a new car.
