EstrieSeven prizes of $1,000,000 or more were won in 2023, and two sisters took home the $7,000,000 Grande Vie top prize!

Montréal, January 16, 2024 — Estrie lottery players were especially lucky in 2023. They won seven prizes of $1,000,000 or more and 20 prizes of $100,000 or more. And 2024 is off to an excellent start for Estrie residents, too, with sisters Manon Gaudreau and Maryse Gaudreau winning the Grande Vie top prize in the December 28 draw, which they claimed on January 3. Maryse admitted she didn’t let go of the ticket until they arrived at Loto-Québec’s offices! The two sisters, known for being nearly inseparable, have decided to split the prize equally and use their new-found fortune to travel.

The winning ticket was purchased at Dépanneur Jacques-Cartier, located at 1785 Rue King Ouest in Sherbrooke. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $70,000.

Jean Larocque and Catherine Ennis, also from Estrie, won the largest jackpot in Québec in 2023 last November. The couple won the largest prize of 2023 with a Lotto Max ticket purchased on Halloween night at Dépanneur JA in Coaticook.
