Montréal, February 6, 2024 — Laval residents Line Bourque and Réjean Daspe were very emotional when they discovered they’d won the $1,000,000 jackpot in the January 16 Extra draw. Réjean Daspe checked the couple’s ticket online. With tears in his eyes, he told his spouse, “Darling, we’re millionaires!”

• Daspe purchased the winning ticket at the Voisin convenience store on Boulevard Le Carrefour in Laval.
• “I never buy draw tickets on Tuesdays, usually, but this time, I’d gone to the convenience store on a Tuesday to validate tickets that had won some small prizes and replayed my ticket, adding Extra,” said the winner. “It’s crazy how $1 can change everything!” the winner told Loto-Québec.
• When he shared the news with Bourque, she didn’t quite believe it until she checked the results online. “I believe it more now,” Bourque whispered to her spouse when they received their prize.
• The couple plans to use their million to buy a house and travel through Europe in the spring.
