$1,000,000A new Lotto Max millionaire crowned in Montérégie!

Montréal, July 19, 2022 — A Lotto Max player in Montérégie is now a millionaire. Thomas Cyr took home $1,000,000 in the June 28 draw. The lucky winner says he’ll use his windfall to pay off debts and spoil loved ones.

  • While paying for his gas at a convenience store, Cyr took the opportunity to check his lottery tickets via the self-serve ticket checker.
  • After getting a few notifications that his tickets hadn’t won him anything, an amount suddenly popped up on-screen. At first he was incredulous and thought he’d read it wrong because “there were just too many zeros!” he recalled.
  • Cyr then asked the store clerk to validate his ticket at the terminal. It was at this point that he received confirmation that he’d won $1,000,000, to the sound of applause from bystanders.

The winning ticket was purchased at Dépanneur Saint-Lazare on Route de la Cité-des-Jeunes in Saint-Lazare. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
