Montréal, February 11, 2022 — Hubert Breault, a Centre-du-Québec resident, won $7,102,956 in the January 29 Lotto 6/49 draw. This new multimillionaire still showed up for work the next few days, while waiting to claim his prize at the Loto-Québec offices. He plans to use his sudden fortune to spoil his two children, travel and build a new house.

Highlights

  • It was while listening to the radio that Hubert learned that the Lotto 6/49 jackpot had been won in Centre-du-Québec.
  • So he fetched his ticket from his car and checked it using the Lotteries app on his phone.
  • To his great surprise, he realized he was the lucky winner and that he’d won over $7,000,000!
  • “Even though I’ve known for a few days now that I won, it’s today, here in the Loto-Québec winners’ lounge, that it’s really sinking in!” he said as he received his cheque.
  • Hubert, who plans to retire, will make some investments and spoil his two children.
  • He’d like to build a house and buy an electric car too.
  • He also plans to discover Québec, travel across Western Canada and visit the Grand Canyon, when the public health situation permits.

The winning ticket was purchased at a Sonic gas station, a branch of VIVACO groupe coopératif, on Boulevard Arthabaska in Victoriaville. The retailer will receive a $71,000 commission, equal to 1% of the prize.
