Highlights
-
Michka heard the terminal chime as she waited for a retailer to validate her Célébration 2020 tickets.
-
Convinced it was someone else’s winning ticket, she asked: “Did someone win a million dollars?”
-
The cashier didn't say a word and discretely went to get claim documents. Back at the counter, the employee handed the documents over to Michka and indicated that she couldn’t say the amount out loud; she then slid the ticket and validation slip over to her. That’s when Michka discovered she was a millionaire!
-
Speechless, the lucky winner looked at her spouse and they immediately left the store.
-
Once they arrived at Michka’s mom’s house to tell her the good news, they started crying tears of joy.
-
Michka still has a long way to go before taking retirement, but she said that, since her future is now secure, she will be free to do lots of things.
