Lotto 6/49The “Friday the 13th group” wins $5,000,000

Montréal, October 4, 2024 — Quebecers’ lucky streak with Lotto 6/49 continues: They’ve won the $5,000,000 Classic Jackpot seven times over the last few months! This time, 19 people from across Québec took home the September 18 jackpot with a Formule groupe ticket purchased online. The winners, who didn’t know each other, met when they received their prize in a celebration at the Loto-Québec offices.

Every member of the online group pocketed $250,000, except for Montréal resident Alain Richard, who purchased two shares and took home half a million dollars. “It’s good timing,” he said.

Highlights on some of our winners

  • Centre-du-Québec resident Raynald Cusson decided to name the group he created the “Friday the 13th group.” As it turns out, they won a free ticket in the September 14 draw, which helped them pocket the $5,000,000 jackpot.

  • For thirty-year-old Jérémie Gagnon from Montérégie, the prize arrives as he’s embarking on a new professional path. For him and many others in the group, this jackpot represents a financial cushion.

  • Laurentides resident Anik Forest was going through a power outage when she received Loto-Québec’s call informing her of her win. Just as she learned she’d won $250,000, power was restored! That’s what we call an electrifying moment!
