Loto-Québec introduces the Salon de jeux de Rimouski: A modern and safe entertainment destination

Loto-Québec introduces the Salon de jeux de Rimouski: A modern and safe entertainment destination

Rimouski, Wednesday, November 20, 2024 — Loto-Québec is thrilled to share the progress of its Rimouski gaming hall project that will be built on the grounds of the Hôtel Rimouski. The gaming hall, which is expected to open in 18 months, will offer a modern and safe environment with many entertainment options in addition to gambling, such as shows and live entertainment. This will help promote social interactions and oversee gambling responsibly.

A prime destination
Loto-Québec is proud to offer Bas-Saint-Laurent and eastern Québec residents, tourists and conference attendees a Loto-Québec-branded gaming site.

The Salon de jeux de Rimouski will uphold the corporation’s quality standards, especially in providing a safe gambling environment. Loto-Québec gaming site staff are trained to ensure operations run smoothly and benefit from sophisticated, leading-edge technology to help them.

Quotes
“Our gaming hall model has proven itself. Whether we’re talking about our Québec and Trois-Rivières gaming halls or our four casinos, our gaming sites are well established in their communities and are known for the quality of their offer and the safety they provide—both of which foster low-risk gambling,” explains Jean-François Bergeron, President and Chief Executive Officer at Loto-Québec.

“The Salon de jeux de Rimouski will contribute to the region by helping it flourish and increasing its attractiveness. From creating new jobs and increasing tourism spending to developing business partnerships, spin-offs abound,” he adds.

Loto-Québec to continue working with the Direction générale de la santé publique
Loto-Québec, whose mission is to manage games of chance in Québec, will continue to work with the Direction générale de la santé publique and consider its concerns, as it has always done with every project. The corporation will also cooperate with it to implement measures and set up indicators to assess the effects of the gaming hall’s arrival on the population. It is important to note that when the Québec and Trois-Rivières gaming halls were established, the Direction générale de la santé publique had concerns that did not materialize.

The Ville de Rimouski city council unanimously approved the rezoning application earlier this year, making this project possible. Loto-Québec is excited for Bas-Saint-Laurent residents to discover its new gaming hall and to share it with tourists and conference attendees who will benefit from this new entertainment site.
