Montréal, June 14, 2024 — Lanaudière resident Marie Michelle Roy won $2,000,000 in the May 11 Québec 49 draw. Her husband gave her the winning ticket as a Mother’s Day gift. “We have lots of projects because we have lots of little people with us,” said the new multimillionaire mom of five. “I’m going to take care of myself and enjoy life with my children and my spouse,” she added.

• Marie Michelle Roy only told her father that she’d won the Québec 49 grand prize after all her family members had arrived at Loto-Québec. They were all thrilled at the millionaires’ lounge. “I was very, very happy for my daughter. She deserves it,” said the winner’s father.
• When Roy’s spouse asked for a Double Jeu 49 ticket at the Familiprix at 380 Boulevard Arthur-Sauvé in Saint-Eustache, the attendant forgot to include the Québec 49 play. So he then issued another ticket — and that’s the ticket that earned Roy the $2,000,000 prize! The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $20,000.
