$50,000,000 won with Lotto MaxA Montréal resident wins the jackpot and goes back to work!

Montréal, October 12, 2023 — Pierre Richer had a lot to be thankful for this past Thanksgiving weekend! The Montréal resident won the $50,000,000 jackpot in the October 6 Lotto Max draw. And Richer went back to work, as expected, on Monday! With his windfall, he says he’ll be able to realize his dream of owning a home on the outskirts of Montréal. With a 40-year career to be proud of, Richer says he’ll be taking some well-deserved “me” time but has no plans to retire anytime soon.

Highlights

  • Richer was at the Super C on Boulevard Champlain with his daughter, picking up the Thanksgiving dinner fixings, when he bought a Lotto Max ticket.
  • The day after the draw, his spouse and daughter were on the Lotteries app when they discovered that one of Richer’s selections had won him $50,000,000!
  • The winner’s daughter screamed when she saw the windfall... Her other family members thought she’d seen a spider!
  • On Monday, October 9, the winner was back at work at 4:30 a.m. Richer, who’s in his sixties and works in shipping, says he’ll think about retiring... some other time!
