Montréal, October 5, 2023 — Montérégie resident Mélanie Guay won the $2,000,000 top prize in the August 30 Québec 49 draw. Since she and her spouse had recently been on a lucky streak, she asked him to buy her a lottery ticket. The retailer offered her spouse a Lotto 6/49 ticket “with all the trimmings,” as it also included a play for Québec 49 and Extra. It was a fortunate decision because the Québec 49 selection had all the winning numbers!

A few days later, when Guay checked her lotto ticket using the Lotteries app on her phone, she was shocked to see $2,000,000 appear on her screen. “Wait, it’s not just $2?” She asked aloud. She then closed the app, reopened it, rechecked her ticket, and saw the $2,000,000 reappear! The lucky winner says she plans to invest her windfall in real estate.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Dépanneur Beau-Soir on Rue Lucien-Chénier in Farnham.

Two weeks earlier, another Québec 49 player—Lanaudière resident Patsy Lefebvre—won the $2,000,000 top prize in the August 16 draw!
