Montréal, November 6, 2023 — Jean Larocque and Catherine Ennis, from Estrie, were in for quite a treat on Halloween. But not the candy kind...  The couple raked in the $55,000,000 jackpot in the October 31 Lotto Max draw!

• Jean Larocque decided to use the money from a previous minor Lotto Max win to purchase a quick-pick selection for the October 31 draw.
• The day after the draw, he checked the lotto ticket using the lotoquebec.com ticket checker and was shocked to see $55,000,000 pop up on-screen.
• He immediately went to see his spouse, who was baking cookies, to tell her that they’d won the jackpot. Larocque being the jokester that he is, she didn’t believe him at first!
• Larocque went to sleep with the lucky ticket in his pyjamas’ pocket. He said he woke up a few times during the night just to make sure the ticket was still there!
• The two retirees say they plan to spoil their loved ones and make donations to causes they’re deeply committed to. A fly-fishing enthusiast, Larocque would also love to fish in Scotland.

Over the last couple of weeks, a $50,000,000 jackpot has been won by a Montrealer, a $5,000,000 jackpot has been awarded to a group of 28 Université de Montréal co-workers, and the $2,000,000 Québec 49 jackpot has been won three times in the span of two months.
