$1,000,000A Laurentides man wins Lotto 6/49!

Montréal, May 4, 2023 — Laurentides resident Dany Huot took home $1,000,000 in the April 8 Lotto 6/49 draw. Huot never thought he’d win such a whopping amount. In fact, when claiming his prize, he could hardly believe that he was now a millionaire! The winner says he still needs some time to think about what he’ll do with his windfall.

Highlights

  • “When the lady at the convenience store asks if I want to buy a ticket, I always answer her with the same joke: ‘So you can offer me a non-winning ticket, again?’” he recounted, adding that sometimes he obliges, as was the case this time.
  • When he checked his ticket the day after the draw, the lottery terminal began to chime, indicating that he’d won $1,000,000.
  • “It was so surreal, we both started counting the zeros on-screen!” the lucky winner recalled.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Boni-Soir on Boulevard Des Ruisseaux in Mont-Laurier.
