A group of players won $1,000,000 with Lotto MaxA convenience store in Saint-Jean-de-Matha sold 10 winning tickets!

Montréal, June 29, 2023 — One Maxmillions prize, i.e., $1,000,000, was won in the May 23 Lotto Max draw by a group who bought Formule Groupe tickets at the Beau-Soir convenience store located on Route Louis-Cyr in Saint-Jean-de-Matha. In all, there are 12 winners, 4 of whom bought their ticket with their spouse. As such, they are splitting the prize into 10 shares of $100,000 each. Among the lucky winners, eight live in Lanaudière, one in the Laurentides, two in Montérégie and one in Montréal.

12 winners

The eight winners from Lanaudière are:

Yves Bessette and Carole Leblond (one share worth $100,000 split two ways) – When Bessette went to check the couple’s ticket, he initially thought that the group created by the Beau-Soir convenience store had collectively won $100,000. “I have some bad news... You haven’t won $10,000. You’ve won $100,000!” the store owner cheekily announced to the winner. Bessette and Leblond say they plan to purchase an RV with their “10X bigger” prize.

Stéphane Boudreau and Rachelle Elisabeth Côté (one share worth $100,000 split two ways) – Boudreau and Côté’s $100,000 Formule Groupe win couldn’t have come at a better time, since they were among those affected by the recent floods in the region. With their windfall, the winners say they play to purchase a new home.

Roger Demers (one share worth $100,000) – It was at the Beau-Soir convenience store that Demers found out he’d won a share of the million-dollar prize. Customers shouted with joy when they heard the news that 10 tickets sold on-site were Maxmillions winners. The Lanaudière resident then checked his lottery tickets only to find out he was the owner of one of the lucky tickets!

Nathalie Lagacé (one share worth $100,000) – The winner usually buys a group play ticket and a solo ticket whenever she plays Lotto Max. Lagacé says she’s so lucky and so supremely delighted to have won such a tidy sum!

Geraldine Mc Intyre (one share worth $100,000) – Mc Intyre checked her lotto ticket when she stopped for gas. Once she got back to her car, her husband learned the good news when she showed him her Lotto Max validation slip. He couldn't believe his eyes! With her windfall, the winner says she plans to add a sunroom to her balcony.

Jocelyne Savignac Gravel (one share worth $100,000) – When she went to check her Formule Groupe ticket the day after the draw, Savignac Gravel initially thought she’d only won a small amount. One week later, she learned that her ticket had won her a whopping $100,000!

The winner from the Laurentides is:

Laurette Beauchamp (one share worth $100,000) – Beauchamp’s Lotto Max ticket happened to be a gift from her niece. The Laurentides resident says she plans on travelling and spoiling her loved ones with her windfall!

The two winners from Montérégie are:

Pauline Gauvin (one share worth $100,000) – One week after Gauvin bought her lottery ticket, she realized that she still hadn’t checked it. Once she finally did, she checked it again another 20+ times, just to make sure she wasn’t dreaming! With her windfall, she says she plans to go on a cruise to Asia.

Simon Rochefort-Gendron (one share worth $100,000) – Rochefort-Gendron says his visit to Loto-Québec will forever be etched in his mind. He initially thought he’d won $10,000, but realized the amount was much greater once he came to pick up the cheque! When he saw the $100,000 cheque, an emotional Rochefort-Gendron said: “You’re making my day!”

The winner from Montréal is:

Serge Paquin (one share worth $100,000) – While out in Lanaudière for a day of fishing, Paquin bought one of the 10 lucky tickets. After leaving his lottery ticket in his car for a few days, he double-checked it when he saw the amount that popped up! The winner says he plans on purchasing a rowboat and fishing gear so he can continue pursuing his “lucky charm” of a hobby.
