“I feel like a rock star!”$2,000,000 Québec 49 grand prize won in Outaouais

Montréal, June 9, 2023 — “I feel like a rock star!” said Outaouais resident Robert Lavigne upon receiving his cheque for $2,000,000 at the Casino du Lac-Leamy. It was at the Magasin Général in Gatineau that Lavigne made his lucky purchase for the April 29 Québec 49 draw.

Highlights

  • When Lavigne checked the winning combination for Québec 49, he could hardly believe his luck. He double-checked the numbers three times. He then rushed to tell his wife the news, who also had to be convinced that it was real!
  • With their $2,000,000 windfall, Lavigne hopes that his wife will be able to retire earlier.
  • Apart from that, he says he’ll take some time to think about what they’ll do with the money, but says they plan to treat themselves! “For once, we’re going to celebrate!” he said, adding that he’s had to work hard all his life.

Coincidentally, another Outaouais resident, Benoit Gravelle, won the Québec 49 grand prize on January 7 with a ticket purchased in the same city.
