Montréal, July 6, 2023 — In early June, two Lanaudière residents were the winners of major lottery prizes. Mélanie Beausoleil won $1,000,000 in the June 10 Lotto 6/49 draw with a ticket she purchased online. As for Jocelyn Martel, he took home $500,000 in the June 6 Lotto Max draw with a ticket he purchased in Saint-Lin–Laurentides.

For some years now, Beausoleil has been playing the same numbers in every Lotto 6/49 draw. She says the numbers carry special significance for her. Lately, she’s been winning small amounts, which she reinvests in lotto ticket purchases, including the one that finally made her win big. She says she plans to put her windfall towards a real estate purchase and travelling.

The winning ticket was purchased on Loto-Québec’s gaming website, lotoquebec.com.

Jocelyn Martel won half a Maxmillions prize, i.e., $500,000, in the June 6 Lotto Max draw. After many years of purchasing his Lotto Max tickets the same way—by playing the same numbers at the same location and same time every morning—Martel now adapts his purchases to however he feels that day: sometimes with Extra added on, sometimes without, something with Québec Max added on, sometimes without, etc. The day after the June 6 draw, he checked his ticket using the Lotteries app on his phone, and saw winnings of $500,000. He then pinched himself, thinking: “I will not scream!” Instead, it was his spouse who screamed for joy when he showed her the phone. The lucky winner says he plans to spoil his family and go on getaways for two with his spouse.

The winning ticket was purchased at IGA Famille Cregheur, located at 2305 Avenue du Marché in Saint-Lin–Laurentides.
