Highlights

  • Laurier Lapointe opened an account on lotoquebec.com in 2013. He likes how easy it is to create an online lottery subscription, which allows him to enter several draws at once.
  • Lapointe, who works in IT, has played Grande Vie since the lottery game was launched and normally picks family members’ birthdays for his number selections.
  • After receiving a call from Loto-Québec, the winner logged into his online account to check the results himself and saw that he really had won the Grande Vie grand prize!
  • The lucky winner took a screenshot of the results and send it to his spouse. “I thought he was playing a prank on me!” she said when he claimed his check in the Quebec City winners’ lounge.
  • Lapointe had the choice of receiving $1,000 a day for life or opting for the lump-sum prize of $7,000,000. He chose to become a multimillionaire on the spot and told his employer he was resigning!
