Montréal, January 21, 2023 ⁠— Claude Martin, a Lanaudière resident, is sure to remember the evening of Friday, January 20, that he spent at the Casino de Montréal for years to come. That’s because he won the biggest progressive jackpot in the casino’s history, i.e., $3,056,175!

Martin was at the casino with his spouse and others to attend the Roch Voisine show at the Cabaret du Casino. He took this opportunity to enjoy a dinner at Le Montréal and, because he had some time to kill before show time, play some 3 Card Poker. After a few hands, he won the entire inter-casino progressive pot with a flopped royal flush in spades.

The lucky winner, who admitted he just loves his job, said he’s not yet thinking of retiring, but does plan to slow down. He says he also wants to buy the car of his dreams and a lakeside cottage. He’ll also have to go see a Roch Voisine show some other time, since he was unable to attend this one, given the circumstances.

About the progressive jackpot

The inter-casino progressive jackpot is available to 3 Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’em players at all four Loto-Québec casinos. To be eligible to win it, players must make a $5 side bet. The jackpot gradually increases with every bet placed until the jackpot is won.
