Montréal, February 14, 2023 — Three new multimillionaires came by Loto-Québec’s head office to pick up their cheques, making them the last to claim their share of the group of 10 who won the $40 million jackpot on the December 16 Lotto Max draw. The seven other winners had already been introduced to the public at a press conference held on December 22. The three remaining winners came forward in January. Vijaikumar Patel and Ken Francis Ferrer, from Montréal, and Xuan Quang Nguyen, from Laval, had also purchased their Formule groupe winning tickets at the Plaza Côte-des-Neiges lottery kiosk.
When claiming his prize, Nguyen mentioned his plans to purchase a new house. The two other winners said they wanted to take time to reflect before making any plans.

Twice as much luck for the Association québécoise de l’épilepsie
The winning ticket was sold at the Plaza Côte-des-Neiges kiosk, which is managed by the Association québécoise de l’épilepsie (AQE). This is the non-profit organization’s second windfall in the span of a few years! In fact, in addition to this $400,000 commission, the AQE received a $500,000 commission in 2019 for selling a $50 million winning ticket at another kiosk it operates in Brossard.

Since the launch of Lotto Max in September 2009, Québec players have won over $3.3 billion with this lottery game. The December 16 jackpot is the 40th Lotto Max jackpot to be won in Québec. Two $70,000,000 jackpots were won by Québec Lotto Max players in the June 7, 2022, and October 9, 2022, draws. In addition to these major prizes, 211 Maxmillions, each worth $1,000,000, have been won by Québec players.
