Montréal, December 18, 2023 — Chaudière-Appalaches resident Gilles Sylvain won $25,000 a year for life in the November 16 draw with a Grande Vie ticket he purchased online. The winner, who said he was “quite stunned” by his lucky strike, opted for the lump sum prize of $500,000 instead. He plans to use his windfall to spoil his children and go on a cruise with his spouse.
Highlights
- Sylvain likes to play the lottery online because he receives a notification if he wins. In fact, he found out about his win when he read an email from Loto-Québec with lottery results.
- “At first, I read $25 per year. I thought that couldn’t be right.” He added, “I took the time to look carefully [at the prize amount], and that’s when I saw all the zeros!”
