$2,000,000Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean resident wins big with a scratch ticket

Montréal, December 1, 2023 — A Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean resident won a $2,000,000 grand prize with the 20X Supreme lottery game. Patrice Gérin learned about his stroke of luck at the very place where he purchased his scratch ticket, the Dépanneur Métabetchouan on Rue Saint-André in Métabetchouan–Lac-à-la-Croix.

Highlights

  • When Guérin saw the 2 MILLION$ mention on his scratch ticket, he decided to check it using the convenience store’s self-serve ticket checker.
  • He then calmly walked toward the store clerk and asked that they call the store owner so that she could check the valuable 20X Supreme ticket.
  • Meanwhile, Guérin called his spouse to tell her the great news—but she didn’t believe him!
  • The Dépanneur Métabetchouan owner confirmed the win over the phone to Guérin’s spouse, who quickly made her way to the convenience store.
  • Then, the retailer validated the winning scratch ticket in front of the thrilled couple.
  • Retired truck driver Guérin plans to use his windfall to spoil his children and purchase a new pick-up truck and a snow tractor.
