The Estrie resident learned that his Québec Max ticket had won him $1,000,000 in the November 24 draw as he was helping his friend move! With his windfall, Fréchette—who’s in his twenties—says he plans to buy a brand-new vehicle and take his friends out on a microbrewery crawl.

• “It’s a funny story. I was helping my friend, who’s with me here today, move,” Fréchette recalled while in the Loto-Québec winners’ lounge.
• He was in his friend’s basement when he checked his Québec Max ticket via the Lotteries app. “I knew then and there that I was going to steal the show!” he recalled, laughing.
• Fréchette then went upstairs to tell his friends that his Québec Max numbers had won him $1,000,000. The whole group then headed to the nearest convenience store so Fréchette could get his lucky lottery ticket validated!

The winning ticket was purchased at Dépanneur Comptoir BM, located at 415 Rue Denison Ouest in Granby. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
