$1,000,000An Abitibi-Témiscamingue résident and her twin daughters take home the top prize with Extra
Montréal, August 4, 2023 — Diane Beaupré and her twin daughters Alexandra and Jessica Cloutier, all three Abitibi-Témiscamingue residents, took home the $1,000,000 top prize in the July 18 Extra draw. The mother-daughter trio, who usually buy a group ticket when the prize amount is significant, have decided to split the win equally between them. Alexandra Cloutier is planning to use her share of the windfall to open a store and sell her paintings, whereas her sister, Jessica Cloutier—who recently became a mom—is thinking of a second child. As for Diane Beaupré, she’s already informed her employer that she’ll be retiring in the upcoming weeks.
Highlights
- A few days before the draw, Diane Beaupré told her daughters, “Remember to get the group ticket. We’re due for a win!”
- Alexandra went ahead and got a ticket with Extra.
- And it’s precisely because of Extra that the three women have now received a cheque for $333,333.33 each!
- Jessica was the one who learned the happy news first when she checked the ticket using the Lotteries app.
- She ran to the kitchen to share them with her mother who was then on the phone. “I kept looking at Jessica wide-eyed as I talked and counted the zeros on her phone’s screen.”
- Then Jessica went to see her twin at work, something she never does. “I got scared when my sister showed up at my work. I thought something serious had happened,” said Alexandra. “But then I saw the piece of paper she was handing me with $1,000,000 written on it. I was speechless!”
The winning ticket was purchased at the Dépanneur Voisin located at 215 Boulevard Rideau, in Rouyn-Noranda. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
