Montréal, November 17, 2022 — Montérégie resident Maxime Aimola took home $1,000,000 in the October 11 Québec Max draw by choosing Double Jeu Max with Extra. The lucky winner plans to use his windfall to pay off some debts and buy a new car and house.
Highlights
- To change things up, this Montérégie resident, who normally buys his lottery tickets online, purchased the winning ticket from a retailer the “old-fashioned way,” as he put it.
- The first thing he did when he woke up the day after the October 11 draw was to check his ticket.
- “Talk about starting the day off with a bang!” he said with a big smile. He checked the result several times before it sunk in that he’d really and truly become a millionaire.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Couche-Tard at 7305 Grande Allée in Brossard. The retailer will receive a $10,000 commission, equal to 1% of the prize.
