Changes to LOTTO 6/49 are coming this fallTwo multi-million-dollar jackpots to be offered on every draw; ticket price remains the same

Montréal, March 7, 2022 – To celebrate its 40th anniversary later this year, Lotto 6/49 is announcing changes to come this fall that will make the classic lottery game even more exciting for players – there will now be two multi-million-dollar jackpots up for grabs at every draw.

Starting this September, two jackpots will be offered: the Classic Jackpot, worth $5 million, and the Gold Ball Jackpot that starts at $10 million and can grow to just over $60 million.

These changes will create more excitement while maintaining the classic elements of the game that are important to players. The price will remain the same at $3 per play, and players will still be able buy their tickets in the same ways they’re used to. Odds to win any prize will remain 1 in 6.6 for one play. Finally, players will still be able to either select their own six numbers from 1 to 49 or play by Quick Pick and will still receive a 10-digit number with every play.

Since 1982, Loto-Québec has distributed billions of dollars in prizes to players and in increased dividends to the Québec government for the common good of all Quebecers, thanks to Lotto 6/49.

Sales for the enhanced game begin on Sunday, September 11, 2022, and the first draw will take place on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
