$1,000,000 in Formule groupeFour Lanaudière residents win big in Extra draw

Montréal, December 22, 2022 – Four Lanaudière residents were among the five lucky winners to split the $1,000,000 grand prize in the October 29 Extra draw. Denise Doucet, François Lebrun, Pierre Perreault and Suzy Prive each won $200,000, thanks to the Formule groupe shares they bought. Simon Vézina Bareil, a Mauricie resident, also took home $200,000.

The Lanaudière residents’ plans

  • After discovering she had won $200,000 in the Extra draw, Denise Doucet called her sisters to tell them she’s taking them to Walt Disney World!
  • François Lebrun was the last to claim his share of the grand prize. He came to Loto-Québec’s offices on December 1 and confessed that he’d kept his ticket in his pocket for a few days before going to check it. The lucky winner is going to use the prize money to take a trip with his spouse to Las Vegas.
  • The timing was right for Pierre Perreault, as his employer had just told him they were closing up shop. His win will allow him a smoother transition toward retirement.
  • Suzy Prive, who rarely plays the lottery, stopped on a whim at a gas station to buy a Lotto 6/49. She took the Dépanneur Charles employee’s recommendation and bought a Formule groupe ticket. This winner is also planning her retirement.

The five winning tickets were purchased at Dépanneur Charles, adjacent to Pétro-T, located at 850 Avenue Gilles-Villeneuve in Berthierville. The retailer will receive a $10,000 commission, equal to 1% of the prize.
