Montréal, June 17, 2021 — Louis Vallée got quite the surprise when he strolled over to the pharmacy to buy his newspaper and check a few lottery tickets. The Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean resident couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw all those zeros appear on the self-serve ticket checker, and as he quickly counted them, he realized he’d won $1,000,000 in the May 14 Québec Max draw.

In summary

  • Lottery game: Québec Max
  • Prize: $1,000,000

Highlights

  • Louis is a lottery enthusiast. Whether it’s for a Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49 or Grande Vie draw, he always has a ticket that needs checking.
  • After checking his winning Québec Max ticket at a retailer, he quickly returned home to check the draw results in the paper in order to get some confirmation that he’d indeed won $1,000,000, When he still felt a hint of doubt, he went over to the lottery kiosk at the mall near his home to validate his ticket.
  • When he claimed his prize, the new millionaire hadn’t yet shared the news with a soul.
  • The winner plans to carry out a variety of projects with his million dollars. With a generous heart, he wants to help out some members of his immediate family. He’d also like to travel to France to see one of his sons next winter, if the situation allows.
