$1,000,000A Côte-Nord resident now a millionaire thanks to Le 10, her first-ever lottery ticket

Montréal, June 23, 2021 — Sara-Jeanne Dallaire pocketed $1,000,000 by playing the lottery for the first time in her life! The Côte-Nord resident took home the grand prize for the Le 10 scratch ticket and became a millionaire on June 18, the day she received her cheque in Loto-Québec’s Winners’ Lounge.

In summary

  • Lottery game: Le 10
  • Prize: $1,000,000
  • Category: Grand prize
  • Prize payout date: June 18, 2021
  • Winner’s place of residence: Côte-Nord
  • Retailer: Boni-Soir Shell (907 Boulevard Laure, Sept-Îles)

The retailer will receive a $10,000 commission, equal to 1% of the prize.

Highlights

  • Sara-Jeanne had never played the lottery before. For her first experience, she asked for advice from a friend, who went with her to the convenience store. Her friend suggested Le 10, one of the most popular scratch tickets available in the display case.
  • The two friends scratched off the ticket on site and quickly realized that Sara-Jeanne had won the grand prize. They immediately checked the ticket and heard some unusual music coming from the terminal, confirming the $1,000,000 win.
  • Cheers broke out in the store, and the women jumped up and down.
  • As the winner is still in school, she thinks her winnings will open many doors. She plans to invest the money and live life to the fullest.
  • “It’s a ton of money for someone my age. It’s really given me a leg up in life!” said Sara-Jeanne.
